As human beings, we’re capable of making mistakes. There are times we hurt others or cause inconvenience intentionally or not, but I know most of them we regret it.

“What if I didn’t do that? Would it make a difference?”

We tend to overthink the what ifs that could have occurred and drown ourselves in thinking how stupid we are for choosing those decisions because it causes a major impact on our lives. And we often think that if erasing our memories or going back in time would be possible, it would save the consequences of our actions.

But being human means acknowledging those mistakes that would uplift us towards growth. Time would not stop itself for us, it needs to move forward.

Even if numerous apologies would not fix the broken plate or cure the wounds you’ve caused, it’s important to learn from it and become the better person your self needs. Taking accountability and responsibility is a brave thing to do.

You cannot stop making mistakes, because we function being imperfect. Every day is a new phase; for acquiring lessons that would foster your capabilities.

Don’t be stuck in a corner or in a dark room waiting for time to pass by, you need to make progress. It’s part of your story that no one could ever duplicate it.

I know that those mistakes caused us to lose things, but always remember that we gain things too. Life doesn’t stop there, don’t be too harsh to yourself, learn to embrace your flaws. It can be hard, but staying in the past is like waiting for winter only to be welcomed by another season.

So give yourself a pat and say “I’m so proud of you.” Even if it’s just a minor improvement, it will not change the fact that you’re taking another step and learning the meaning of acceptance.

You may not have been forgiven, but forgive yourself for those mistakes and acknowledge your bad days.
